Secondary 4 – O-Level Chinese Prep Course
(Classes are held 2 hours weekly)
Oral - Effective Communication
Thematic practice sessions to strengthen key vocabulary and structures. Intensive review of high-frequency vocabulary and advanced phrases/idioms relevant to common O-Level themes (e.g., Social Responsibility, Digitalisation, Healthy Living). Fluency Drills: Practice reading passages and discussing visual prompts under timed conditions to simulate the actual exam. Conduct simulated oral exams, including reading and discussion, followed by immediate, focused feedback on tone, pronunciation, structure, and content depth.
Writing - Creative
Practice on narrative, explanatory, and argumentative essays with specific structures for each. News articles will be used as stimuli for writing tasks. Full-time mock papers in simulated conditions with detailed feedback.
Listening & Reading Comprehension - Vocabulary
Cloze passage techniques and open-ended comprehension strategies. Analysis of question types and answer formulation techniques. Practice identifying and categorizing question types (e.g., Inference, Literal Recall, Critical Thinking, Vocabulary in Context) and applying tailored answering techniques for each.
Regular Assessment & Reporting
Use a scoring and tracking system that directly mimics the O-Level grading criteria to give students the clearest picture of their readiness.
